Business Development Associate – New Jersey

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results driven Business Development Associate to help expand our footprint throughout New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our reach, identifying new project opportunities, developing client relationships, and promoting clean energy programs, particularly those focused on HVAC and energy efficiency solutions. You’ll play a key role in helping property owners unlock smarter and more sustainable ways to power their buildings.
We’re looking for a proactive, results-driven Business Development Associate to help us grow
This is a full-time, in-office position (5 days/week) based in Midtown Manhattan. Residence within New York City or New Jersey is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue energy efficiency projects across New Jersey
- Engage potential clients via email outreach, cold calling, and networking
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project viability and client needs
- Work exclusively on New Jersey clean energy programs
- Develop expertise in local incentive programs
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and industry partners
- Stay up to date with clean energy policies, technologies, and incentives
- Build long-term relationships with property owners, developers, and HVAC contractors
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, preferably in real estate, energy, or related fields
- Strong interest in the clean energy sector and HVAC technologies
- Working knowledge of New Jersey’s real estate market and geography
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing and able to commute regularly throughout New Jersey for client visits
- Ability to commute into the New York City office as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with New Jersey clean energy incentive programs
- Experience conducting site evaluations or working with HVAC systems
- Comfort working independently and managing client relationships
